Guess has spent her entire 14 year career in Bryan ISD, the last four years as an assistant principal at Rayburn Intermediate School.
“Bryan ISD has shaped me personally and professionally in more ways than I can put into words,” Guess said. “I love Bryan with my whole heart. I am honored to be able to serve this community through Bowen Elementary School.”
Over the course of her career, Guess has served as a teacher, instructional coach and assistant principal.
“Kim Guess has a true passion for Bryan ISD, and all of our students,” said Bryan ISD Superintendent Ginger Carrabine. “Through her career in our district, serving at the elementary, intermediate and middle school levels, she brings the right experience and unique skill set to lead Bowen Elementary School.”
Born in Bryan, Guess attended Bryan schools at the elementary and middle level before graduating from Bryan High School.
About the Hire:
Kim Guess earned a Bachelor of Science from Texas State University and Master of Education Administration from Sam Houston State University.
She began her career teaching 8th grade math at Long Middle School for five years, then moved into the role of master teacher and instructional coach for 6th - 8th grade math at Davila Middle School.
After a year, she transitioned into the position of assistant principal at Davila Middle School for a year, and then became an elementary math instructional coach at the district level.
In the 2018-2019 school year, Guess began serving as an assistant principal at Rayburn Intermediate School, a role she has held for the past four years.
Kim is married to Michael Guess, and they have two daughters who are in 7th grade and Kindergarten, both in Bryan ISD.
